Pilgrims' gîte on the Way of St James in the Lot

Looking for an authentic stopover on the Via Podiensis? The Couvent de Vaylats welcomes you to its historic pilgrims' hostel, ideally located on the section linking Le Puy-en-Velay and the Pyrenees. Between UNESCO World Heritage and unspoilt nature, our hostel is the essential stop for recharging your batteries before setting off again on the Way of St James towards Figeac or Cahors.

Is the gîte open all year round or only during the hiking season?

To accompany walkers on the St James's Way, our pilgrim lodge opens its doors during the hiking season, from 1 April to 31 October. Although we are not open all year round, this period covers the vast majority of pilgrims on the Via Podiensis route (from Le Puy-en-Velay to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port). Whether you are at the start of your journey or on your way to Galicia, the Convent is an essential stop on the route in the heart of Quercy.

Is it possible to have my credential (pilgrim’s booklet) stamped when I arrive?

Do you offer a half-board option (dinner, overnight stay and breakfast)?

Is there a grocery shop or supply point near the convent?

Do you accept luggage transport (via La Malle Postale, Transbagages, etc.)?
